Reading
Reading a play differs from reading a book because in a play you just read conversation between people. But in a book the author explains the story through one point of view. And also describes the background/setting. I would understand twelfth night differently if it was a book because I would get a better description of the character. Also more ideas of what the setting looks like. Watching the movie also differs from reading the play because we get to see what the characters look like and say thier lines. We get a total new concept of the character just from watching them in the movie.

Viola analysis
-->
Viola was
born into high society, along with her brother sebastian. Viola is caring and
nice
but after a shipwreck she looses her brother and
decides to makeit on her own in the world. The
role that Viola plays is, cesario, so she could make
a living on her own, something she couldn’t
do as a woman. During her journey she meets a lot of
important characters that have an impact
on her life. She meets a man named Duke whom she falls
in love with but unfortunatly only has
eyes for Oliva. A love triangle is created when
Olivia falls for Cesario a.k.a Viola. Another
character that falls in the mess, is Malvolio who is
crazy for Olivia. Even though Olivia loves
Cesario, Viola cannot tell her the reason why she
cant love Olivia. Also unfortunatly
Viola cant
tell Duke she loves him without revealing that she
really is a woman. Other characters in the
story all have relation like Sir Toby and Maria. Sir
Toby is Olivia’s uncle, he lives with Olivia
and is always drunk. Maria is Olivias servant, she
really wants to be like other woman and be
succesful by marrying into it. The importance of Viola is she is a
character who strives to be
important and make it on her own without trying to
be tangled in love, but obviously doesn’t
succeed with that.

Song
The song that was picked was save me by Nicki Minaj. It has deep meaning about whats happening in her life. She feels weak and wants to give up, so she wants someone to save her. Also in this song she uses figurative language throughout it.
The song talks about her trying to find herself and she feels like she is giving up. She's asking "someone" to save her, someone that as helped her before but she was never satisfied. Before she pushed that someone away and now she is tired of being alone. People search forever looking for something they think they need, in this song its a man and she has been searching for him. She thinks that a person matters so much that you need them to survive.
There are a few figurative language devices said throughout the song. One is the first line "I drove for miles just to find you and find myself", this is a metonymy. She also uses syllepsis "all these voices in my head", shes using voices as a word to apply two others in different senses. Also "gave me hope for a lifetime" is a hyperbole, shes exaggerating by saying lifetime. She has alot of anaphora "this time wont you save me?" is repeated many times throughout the song. "But I'm alone on my throne" is a metaphor she doesn't actually mean she has a throne, she means shes alone in her life. One last device used is aphorism "I'm givin up, baby".

Dairy
Dear dairy,
Now that our country is split in two and we don't have a lot of money and food, I'm very sad. I'm hungry and I need money! I stay home a lot more now and never really see my friends. Mom isn't in the mood to teach me new things since she's worried about daddy fighting in the revolution. I'm worried about him too but I pray everyone night for him to be safe. I try to be the same and not be active in the rebellion, and keep my opinions to myself. Everyone around me doesn't act the same anymore though, they don't talk as much and look worried out of their minds. I don't sleep as much anymore either, neither does mom. We stay up together drinking tea until we eventually fall asleep. I hope things get better in time, I don't want to live like this much longer. I would like to go back to seeing my friends all the time and daddy being home so mom will be happy again. Hopefully it will as change soon.

Hero Analysis
Morgan McCrady
Mrs. Sweezy
Hero Analysis
In this book by Homer, there is a main character, Odysseus. He portrays odysseus as a hero that is
emasculated but still brave and strong. Homer creates sympathy for odysseus through Poseidon's
violent storm attack. Homer makes odysseus prove himself a strong and courageous hero with alot of
great power. Odysseus is not only portraded as brave, strong and powerful but also as strategist.
Odysseus has many herioc qualities such as, bravery, patience and intelligence. He is also a loyal,
maybe not to his wife but to his family and country. But just like every other hero he has some bad
unherioc qualities such as, deceitful, trickster, and sometimes excessive pride. But odysses is an
overall good hero.
These flaws that he has affect his journey is various ways. His excessive pride makes the gods
become angry with him. The gods then create major obsticles for him to make his journey harder for
him to go through.
Odysseus is an not an overall ideal hero during his journey. One reason is because in the end he
realizes that a man is nothing without the Gods, he learned a valuable lesson but heros dont need to
be taught a lesson, they should be teaching other people lessons. He has too much pride and thats
why his journey was made so difficult for him.

Historical and Modern day heroes

Modern heroes and
historical heroes
Modern day heroes
and historical heroes are both alike and different. A modern day hero does good
deeds for his city without being asked. A historical hero
took journeys away from his own city to help
other places. They both always end up “saving the day”.
Modern day heroes
have more human characteristics and their journey involves more everyday life
situations. Modern heroes are very strong and rarely get
defeated by the enemy. But they always end
up saving the victim and getting them back safe. They face
challenges such as who they fight, now a days
other enemies have better weapons, and better fighting
skills.
Historical heroes
are older and more ancient, obviously. They are also strong like modern day heroes.
But they save people while they are away. Back then there enemies didn’t have weapons,
they only had
to worry about people being skilled in fighting. Historical heroes
also fight for their race more than just a
certain victim.
In the end,
historical heroes changed into modern day heroes in good ways. They both take
action to
help others. They always save the day and risk their lives
just to help others.

once upon a time
Once upon a time there was a princess name Olivia. She grew up in a huge castle with her dad and unfortunatly, a step mom and 2 step sisters. Her mother died from a flu that went around the village a few years ago. Every Saturday Olivia visits her mothers grave and puts a new set of flowers. Today is monday, and from 8am to 3pm she is homeschooled by a private tutor. Olivia always gets good grades and is always respectful. Her teacher reminds her that the ball is right around the corner, and she needs to prepare. The following day Olivia finds a dress to wear with the perfect pair of shoes. Then she goes to dinner with her dad, step mom and both step sisters. In the middle of dinner her step sister, Janice "accidently" spills juice on her and like usual Olivia doesnt get mad in front of her dad and goes straight upstairs to clean up. Olivia cries soflty into her pillow that night and wishes her mom was still here. The next day is the ball and once Olivia arrives she instantly spots a gentleman named Nick. The whole night she hopes he will ask her to dance and to her surprise he did. They danced the rest of the night and had an instant connection. Olivia wakes up to flowers next to her bed and wonders who they are from. She reads the card " Good morning beautiful -Nick". She is so happy, she wishes her mother was her so she could share the excitement. She decides to take the flowers to her mothers grave. As shes places them down she hears a noise coming from the woods but ignores it. All of a sudden two men grab her by the arms and put her into a van. They take her to a dark place, like a cave. They tell her they are holding her for randsom. Her father wakes up with a note on the side of his bed also " We have your daughter, give us 1 million dollars to get her back". The dad freaks out, gets up instantly and runs downstairs to the maid and tells her to tell the village what has happened. When Nick hears the news he sets off on a journey to find her and get her back safe. He climbs through the woods and looks through caves. He finds a cave that has a lit fire inside, he found her! He waits till everyone is asleep then sneaks into the cave and gently wakes her up and then they sneak out quitley. When they arrive back at the castle her dad is so happy, he falls to his knees ad thanks Nick. Nick and Olivia end up spending alot of time together after this. They fall in love and get married and live happily ever after.
The end.
The end.
